Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I seem to have enjoyed Inkheart a bit less than many of my friends. I still think it was a good book, but it took me a while to get into it. Unfortunately, that’s a bit more a problem for me when the book is as long as Inkheart is. Still, there were several things I really liked about this book, including many of the characters were neither entirely good nor entirely evil, and the good guys were still flawed individuals.
Also, as a writer, I found the notion that no one thinks about authors as being alive, if at all, to be rather interesting. I’m having trouble recalling what my childhood ideas about authors were, though I knew early on that I wanted to be one.
