Vendredi de Vocabulaire: Nourrissant

Vintage ad for beer

Today’s vocabulary post is inspired by this vintage ad for beer. As you can probably guess, nourrissant(e) means nourishing. It’s related to the word nourrir, which means to feed or to nourish. To breastfeed is nourrir au sein, while bottlefeeding is nourrir au biberon. Un nourisson is an infant.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, while we have dust bunnies in English, the French apparently have chatons de poussière, or dust kittens. (Via @ielanguages)
