Lettuce Harvest

Last night, I harvested my pot of lettuce—or rather, I did something akin to straining lettuce soup. You see, we’ve had a lot of rain (and cold) recently in Philly, and the lettuce pot doesn’t have the best drainage. So my baby lettuce leaves were swimming around in about an inch of water. It made the process take a lot longer than it usually does, but there was enough lettuce that both my roommate and I could have salad with dinner.

I’m growing the lettuce as cut and come again, but I doubt that I’ll get another crop out of this planting. Ah well.
