Today’s word is une cheville, which means ankle.
Example sentence: Je me suis blessée la cheville il y a deux semaines.
I’ve been using this word a fair bit over the last two weeks, since I have an icky scab forming on my ankle. The scab is the result of a scrape I got falling off my bike two weekends ago. It looks pretty ugly, but it’s actually not serious at all. (No, really mom. It’s fine.)
A few other words of interest:
- une croûte – a scab
- une cicatrice – a scar (very useful word for reading Harry Potter)
